PlayGroup
![]() I have had the pleasure of working at Kampung Kids for approximately 18 months, each things in life Tuesday morning. In that time I have met maybe 40 children and their parent/s, careers and often siblings. We have learnt some of our letters and numbers in Bahasa Indonesian and English; we have learnt some Indonesian and English songs; creatively experimented with making things with glue, paint, scissors, glitter, paper, crayons; read some books and played with lots of toys and play dough etc... I have endeavored to catalogue the puzzles and books available into a puzzle library and book library and teachers resources into a spreadsheet list of books and photo catalogue of puzzles. More organizing needs to be done here to make more wonderful resources available for the children. Looking forward, it would be great to train some mums to run play group and puzzle library on a rotating volunteer basis, similar to the Playgroup association which some Australian mums would be familiar with. I would like to thank the mothers and careers, Hadijah my helper for providing a scrumptious snack each week, together with reading books and translating my ideas on learning to the mums and children. I would like to thank Nawan and Julia for their wonderful support and of course the dear children who always teach us about the important things in life. by Claire Meiklejohn More Related...
