Kampung Kids students have Pen Pal in Australia
Have you ever felt so honored to get a letter addressed to you personally? If the sender lives in the same country with you, it could be your long time friend, couldn't it? Or perhaps you don't know the sender but your parents know them. How about if the sender comes from a different county, with a different language and different culture or religion? As well and you never meet the sender even till now, how would you feel?
Since the beginning of this year, 50 students from Kampung Kids have been corresponding with students from SCEGGS Darlinghurst in Australia. Both sides' students have had a good experience through this program. Each student from Kampung Kids has already received 2 letters from her/his own pen pal. They directly respond to their pen pal's letter and also send their photo. How proud they were to receive the letters! Some of them havn't receive letters before.
Even though both sides have to work hard as they speak different languages, they can work it out. How beautiful the world would be, if all people do as these children do! They don't care about the nation, language, religion and culture of their friends - they all love each other.
Thanks Ms. Rachael Honeywood for making this relationship happened; we hope we can encourage more students to become involved with this program.
